Founders Classical Academy in Conroe has partnered with Hero Barracks to honor Veterans and help raise money for homeless Montgomery County Veterans and First Responders. The SAVE-A-CAN... SAVE A HERO fundraiser campaign is being sponsored in large part by Conroe's VFW Post 4709. Grades K-9 are trying to collect as many aluminum cans and scrap / old appliances as possible to be recycled. The winning grade will be treated to a Pizza Party! So far, the Voyagers have collected over 18,400 cans to help the homeless! Great Job!!!
Our Mission
Hero Barracks formed on December 7, 2022. Our mission is to assist Montgomery County, TX, Veterans and their immediate family members (spouse, parents, siblings, and children), when homelessness strikes in times of crisis. We DO NOT HAVE AVAILABILITY YET, but we hope to provide Emergency Shelter (1-6 nights) at no cost, and Temporary Shelter (3-12 months) at a nominal cost per month. In the future, we hope to be able to provide Permanent Housing solutions at, or below, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Fair Market value for Montgomery County. While priority will be given to our Veterans, they are not our only Heroes! Montgomery County First Responders (Police, Firefighters and EMS) will comprise our second tier of assistance. Any other available shelter will be afforded to homeless Montgomery County citizens.

Unfortunately, Hero Barracks DOES NOT HAVE AVAILABILITY. We are in the process of forming and have attained our IRS Determination as a legitimate nonprofit, charitable 501(c)(3) organization. We are looking to obtain land and housing units. Once our doors are open, we will announce it here and on social media platforms.
We will soon list Shelter / Housing available and eligibility to stay, but for now, know we will comply with all IRS "Safe Harbor" requirements.

We are fully committed to total financial transparency! In addition, per our Official Bylaws, our organization is specifically chartered to expend A MINIMUM of 90% of every dollar received to DIRECTLY support Homeless Veterans, First Responders, and Montgomery County Citizens. We will post our Adopted / Approved Annual budgets on this website, as well as other key Tax Documents.

My background includes 22 years as a Naval Officer, with expertise in Human Resource Management and I was responsible for a $2.9B Naval Reserve Defense Budget. I was also an Officer for the Conroe VFW for three years.

I am a proud Navy Veteran! I am currently a real estate Broker and was a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt for Dow Chemical where my focus was on improving work processes and saving money. I was also served as the Treasurer, Junior and Senior Vice President for the Conroe VFW Auxiliary.

I have over 25 years in law enforcement, specializing in civil law. I also have a diverse background in construction, to include carpentry, plumbing and electrical. I am also a former President of the Conroe VFW Auxiliary.

I am the daughter of a World War II Veteran. My background includes 30 years in Human Resource Management with the Department of VA, where I helped Veterans gain employment and health benefits. I also served as a liaison between local and state Veteran organizations.
