While the above metrics focus on our goals, Hero Barracks helps in several other ways. For example, we have: delivered walkers to those with mobility issues, helped transport people, referred numerous individuals looking for food and/or clothing to other organizations, reviewed paperwork and forms. In one instance, we organized a working party to help clear an acre lot for a Veteran who needed to sell his home and could no longer move around. In addition, we assist several other Charitable Organization in their projects, attend Community Service Organization meetings, and champion our causes with ANY politician who will listen!

Our Mission

Hero Barracks formed on December 7, 2022. Our mission is to assist Montgomery County, TX, Veterans and their immediate family members (spouse, parents, siblings, and children), when homelessness strikes in times of crisis. We DO NOT HAVE AVAILABILITY YET, but we hope to provide Emergency Shelter (1-6 nights) at no cost, and Temporary Shelter (3-12 months) at a nominal cost per month. In the future, we hope to be able to provide Permanent Housing solutions at, or below, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Fair Market value for Montgomery County. While priority will be given to our Veterans, they are not our only Heroes! Montgomery County First Responders (Police, Firefighters and EMS) will comprise our second tier of assistance.
